I decided that I wanted to make a fairing for the intake end of the engine, just to make it look more ‘jet-engine-ey’
Rather than try and make something fit the finished engine, I decided to make it first, so that I could adapt the diffuser cover and intake nozzle to suit whatever I ended up with as a fairing.
So it was back to a bit of metal spinning – aluminium is a *lot* easier than stainless, and 1.5mm aluminium is a lot easier than 2mm (I made the first one out of 2mm aluminium, but cut the blank too small, so it ended up too shallow – the second try was 1.5mm aluminium).
I re-worked the former that was used for the rear of the casing to a more rounded and deeper profile:

Trimming to size:

Once it was a tight fit on the former, I trepanned the front face to form the diameter that would fit onto the intake (the intake will be made to suit whatever size this ends up).
